Meet the Minds Behind Resynant

Chad Rienstra, CEO

Chad Rienstra, CEO

Chad began his career in NMR in 1999 in the lab of Robert Griffin at MIT. There, he learned the inner workings of SSNMR instrumentation and its design. He continued this passion while also getting involved in work on biological problems during his time at Columbia University with Ann McDermott. After this, he became a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he continued his work in NMR hardware development while using SSNMR for biological research on amyloid fibrils and antifungal drugs. He then moved to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he is the co-director of the NMR user facility NMRFAM, which continues to push the cutting edge in NMR hardware technology and its biological applications. His leadership and experience will give Resynant the expertise needed to provide quality products and continue to push the boundaries of NMR technology and its applications.

Lauren Price, COO

Lauren Price, COO

Lauren received a bachelor's in Biochemistry in 2016 and went on to obtain a master's in Physical Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis. She then obtained her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from ETH Zurich. During her master's and Ph.D., she specialized in the development of technology for SSNMR and DNP. She continued this line of research as a postdoctoral student at UW-Madison. As COO of Resynant, she is excited to use this expertise in SSNMR technology to help bring quality products with improved performance to the wider NMR community.

Alex Drena, Head of R&D

Alex Drena, Head of R&D

Alex completed his graduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where his research focused on the enzymology of heme proteins in the lab of Prof. Andy Pacheco. He then joined the lab of Prof. Brian Hoffman at Northwestern University as a postdoctoral student, where he utilized EPR and advanced EPR techniques to study metalloenzymes and small molecule analogues. Alex is excited to join the Resynant team as Head of R&D, where he will use his experience with specialized spectrometers to help bring about the next generation of NMR products to better serve the wider NMR community.
